With a “long standing reputation,” North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management offers a “great education” with “great value” for students enrolled in its online MBA program. Not only is the tuition “cost-effective,” but students have “flexible options” with “opportunities to pursue concentrations,” and the convenience to complete courses online. NC State students are enthusiastic about the “effective core curriculum and path to graduation,” as well as the “flexible scheduling” which “allows for working professionals to work asynchronously or based on group convenience rather than scheduled lectures.” One student says, “NC State’s online program ranked in the Top 20 while offering a lower tuition cost than some of the other similar programs.” Tuition is even lower for in-state students, who are able to “attend online as well as go to the campus when time permits.” Students’ views on the ability to maintain a balance between their work lives and their personal lives are varied. Some say it is a “very hectic life” with their school workload, but many say it is “totally worth it.” The program has “a great deal of flexibility,” and students are “able to complete the program in two-six years.” This “adaptability” is not very common among MBA programs at other institutions. “Thankfully, advisors and professors are easy to work with and helpful when planning course load and managing degree expectations.” The professors are “very accessible.” They are “prepared,” present “relevant materials,” and adhere to a “technology-focused curriculum.” The coursework is “difficult, but also collaborative.” NC State students “come from diverse backgrounds and industries and offer unique perspectives.” Fellow classmates are often “30+ and professional,” as well as “engaged, helpful, and intelligent.” They are “very knowledgeable in their fields.” The university is also “veteran-friendly,” and many current students are “active military.”
