Career Experience
After finishing my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I wanted to further my knowledge of comparative literatures and social theories, which led me to begin my doctoral studies in English. I am proficient in multiple languages and have taught various interdisciplinary college-level classes on writing, film and media studies, and gender studies. I also have extensive experience providing writing assistance to graduate and undergraduate students, research scholars, prospective college applicants, medical professionals, faculty, and university staff. In addition to writing, technology, student success, and career assistance, I’ve also offered tutoring assistance for IT and business courses before.
I Love Tutoring Because
it allows me to offer one-on-one assistance to tutees in an effort to help them achieve independent learning. I enjoy guiding students and professionals to use appropriate techniques and resources that could help them in building their skillsets further. Writing is a profoundly liberating activity, and being tech-ready is essential to career success in the 21st century. It is my hope that through our sessions, my students will improve their overall skills and be better equipped to use them in not only their coursework but also other facets of their lives. Here is one of my all-time favorite quotes from the legendary Audre Lorde: "For those of us who write, it is necessary to scrutinize not only the truth of what we speak, but the truth of that language by which we speak it."
