Career Experience
In college, I worked in a genetics research lab designing and carrying out experiments using the tiny worm C. elegans. Later, my work focused on the rare disease dyskeratosis gongenita. I graduated with a major in molecular biology which was awarded magna cum laude and with distinction. My first experience with tutoring was helping people I knew to complete college. Later I took a pedagogy class and became a learning assistant for an accelerated chemistry class before moving on to a professional career at Tutor.com.
I Love Tutoring Because
I am very grateful to the tutors at my college who helped me quickly spot and correct gaps in my knowledge. I enjoy being able to pay that forwards by helping students find and overcome their own gaps in understanding. I try to provide patient, thoughtful and directed tutoring to build strong independent study skills.
