Career Experience

I am a college professor and high school instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching in subjects such as English, history, comparative literature, and philosophy. I am trained as a film historian with additional expertise in mass media, communication, and journalism. This has led me to many successful semesters of teaching and tutoring students (from universities to community colleges, prep schools, and high schools) through challenges in English composition, rhetoric, historical research and analysis.

I Love Tutoring Because

it gives me the chance to help each student individually with specific questions and concerns. The interaction and focus lets me know what a student's particular challenges in the particular subjects are and how I can help, rather than risk having these things lost in the larger classroom setting.
