Career Experience
Having taught courses in history to high school and college students and tutored students as young as 5th graders for more than twenty-five years, I know the only way to engage students is through providing approaches that ensure learning is valued, achieved, and retained. When students grasp that they have solved a complex problem, their motivation soars. Whether in a social studies class, preparing for a high school AP exam, or teaching World History to college sophomores, this is a cornerstone of student success. Such success also depends on overcoming issues such as time management and improving grades. As a career development advisor, I have guided many students to recognize how a proactive approach ensures resumes and cover letters are well-crafted synopses of accomplishment.
I Love Tutoring Because
I can serve as a guide to that ‘ah ha’ moment when it all begins to come together, where pride and ownership become building blocks. So motivated, problems are swiftly resolved, and learning becomes a priority. Teaching is a privilege, and tutoring is one of the most effective and rewarding ways of guiding students.
