Career Experience
I started tutoring in high school, where I would go to the middle school and assist students with their homework or help them catch up on assignments. In college, I continued to help my friends and peers with subjects such as biology, organic chemistry, and math. Additionally, I served as a teacher assistant for my cellular neurology professor, guiding discussions and addressing any questions or concerns that students had. I also conducted review sessions before exams. As time went on, I began tutoring students in subjects that I had already studied. I quickly realized the importance of adapting to their unique learning styles. Some students were visual learners and preferred diagrams, while others preferred definitions or explanations. If a student didn't understand a concept initially, I would try a different approach until they grasped the material. My goal was always to ensure their comprehension. I have had the opportunity to help students improve their grades, particularly those who initially had below-average scores. I always encourage them not to be discouraged and assure them that together we will create a plan for success. Witnessing their progress and seeing the smiles on their faces have always been incredibly rewarding for me.
I Love Tutoring Because
it allows me to make a positive impact on students' lives and education. It's a fulfilling experience to see students overcome challenges and gain a deeper understanding of the subjects they are studying. Tutoring provides me with the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise with others. It's rewarding to witness the "aha" moments when a student finally grasps a difficult concept or solves a problem on their own. Being able to guide them through their learning journeys and witness their growth is truly satisfying. Furthermore, tutoring allows me to build meaningful connections with students. I enjoy getting to know them on a personal level, understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. This enables me to tailor my approach to their individual needs, ensuring that they receive the most effective support possible. Moreover, tutoring challenges me to continuously improve my own understanding of the subjects I teach. Explaining complex ideas in simpler terms and finding alternative ways to convey information enhance my own knowledge and deepen my understanding of the subject matter. Overall, tutoring is a fulfilling and gratifying experience that allows me to make a positive difference in the lives of students while continuously learning and growing myself.
